Volt has partnered with a global leader in Industrial Engineering who is now hiring for a Machinery Engineer!

This is a Direct Hire position with competitive salary and excellent benefits. Relocation assistance may be offered.


To develop and design world class turboexpanders within a fast pace, engineered to order environment.  To analysis and design expander and compressor components in efforts to continually improve product performance, quality and value.  To provide answers and guidance to engineering, R&D, marketing and customers within area of expertise.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in rotating machinery.
  • Experience with rotor dynamics of turbines or other high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Design experience or specialty in turbomachinery components such as fluid bearings, mechanical seals, or power transmission systems a plus.
  • Proficient in 3D design and modeling, Solidworks preferred.
  • Experience with stress analysis and FEA, ANSYS preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including communication, self-starter, positive make-happen attitude, handling multiple tasks, team player.
  • Able to learn to self correct and self improve.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Research, develop and design rotating equipment features, components and products.
  • Execute projects per requirements and constraints outlined in master specifications.
  • Understand the development process; become an expert in taking complex problems and bringing them to effective solutions.
  • Perform detailed static and dynamic analysis on turbomachinery components and systems.
  • Prepare specifications for buyout components, such as housings, gearbox, and mechanical seals.
  • Support technical meetings with customers and suppliers.Provide accurate technical answers to engineering issues.
  • Communicate with drafting, engineering and manufacturing.Read, interact with, update 3-D models and 2-D drawings as required.
  • Maintain up to date documentation on all responsible projects.
  • Work either on self-directed projects or in a team.
  • Provide engineering support for sales, applications, aftermarket and R&D.
  • Attend conferences/study to keep abreast of the developments in industry.
  • Follow all applicable company procedures and work instructions.
