Volt Workforce Solutions is currently hiring CNC Machinists for top manufacturing companies in San Diego!

Pay rate: 21-28 hr DOE

2nd shift

Location: Miramar

Temp to Hire

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • High School education or equivalent
  • 5 - 7 years of specific and related experience.

SKILLS

  • Able to work to exacting tolerances and use machinist-s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Able to read and interpret complex blueprints and sketches.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of wide variety of metals and machining characteristics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machining parts for refurbished engine components (not mass production)
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines
  • Measure, examine, and test complete units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all the machines tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Layout, measure and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
  • Program computers and electronic instruments such as numerically controlled machine tools.
  • Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
  • Effectively assist and train others of lesser skill and/or experience.
  • Cross train in other disciplines.
  • Follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures.
  • Maintain accurate paper work and records. - Maintain high standard of housekeeping in work area.
