Job Description

2nd Shift Magnet Assembler for Control & Automation Manufacturer | $14.95-$17.25/hr | Shakopee, MN

A control and automation manufacturer located in Shakopee is looking for a fast and accurate 2nd shift Magnet Assembler. Candidates must complete a successful drug screen and background check.

Job Description:

  • Operate coil winding machines to transfer wire from spools to winding arbors, bobbins, and tubes to produce coils
  • Set guides, keys, and switches to prepare equipment for operation
  • Select specified parameters such as tension, turns, pitch, and speed
  • Mount and position materials, such as leads, sleeving insulation onto coils by crimping, soldering, brazing, or by other methods as required
  • Install connectors, plugs, wire guides, and other various components to magnet housing
  • Assemble coils into magnet housing
  • Prepare epoxy components for various products
  • Epoxy and cure coils and friction material into magnet housing and rotors
  • Inspect and test magnets and other goods
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Hours: Monday – Thursday; 2:30pm – 1:00am

Duration: Temp-to-hire

Pay: $14.95-$17.25/hr

Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills (standard and metric)
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to follow work instructions accurately
  • Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others
  • Have attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines
  • Ability to solder
  • Ability to see and work with small parts with or without accommodation

  • High hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift over 10 pounds frequently, infrequently lift over 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit 75% of shift
