JOB TITLE:MAILHANDLER

PAY RATE:$12.50

SHIFT:1ST SHIFT

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mail Handler II is responsible for the daily sorting of interoffice and USPS mail and the metering of all outbound USPS mail and packages. Unloads and sorts mail for accurate delivery. Maintains lists of employee locations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all inbound and interoffice mail.

* Sorts mail by employee and department
* Meters mail for delivery
* Maintains mail metering equipment
* Maintains accurate records of employee and departmental locations
* Processes interoffice mail for delivery
* Researches improperly addressed mail for accurate delivery
* Extra hours may be required during business peaks or to meet seasonal deadlines

EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE:
Education and/or experiences listed below are the minimum requirements for job entry.
* High school diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge, skills/abilities listed below are the requirements needed to be proficient in the job.
* Organizational and time management skills are essential in order to promptly and accurately sort mail within time restraints.
* Ability to understand and follow directions
* Communication skills in order to interact effectively with couriers and customers
* Technical aptitude in order to use mail processing/metering equipment

* Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
* Prolonged and repetitive use of the upper extremities.

* Required to use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms.
* Vision abilities include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
