Job Description

Position: Maintenance Manager

Location: Sturtevant, Wisconsin 

Status:  12-month Contract (1st shift position)

Volt is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a maintenance department for a growing medical device manufacturer!

  • Direct the activities of various skilled employees by assigning work, monitoring those assignments, and inspecting the repairs made.
  • Participate in the planning and the implementation of capital, extraordinary maintenance and routine maintenance budgets.
  • Support and promote Medical Device quality objectives within the plant environment.
  • Designs, implements, and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics; inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards. 
  • Directs the activities of outside contractors as required to maintain equipment and processes and inspects and accepts work to ensure compliance to plant standards.
  • Analyzes maintenance organizational effectiveness and modifies plans and programs to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Identifies current and future maintenance requirements by establishing rapport with management, engineering, quality, production personnel and intra-company peers in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
  • Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans; discussing equipment needs and modifications with design engineers; coordinating activities of technicians and workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment.
  • Initiates and Supports corrective actions.
  • Manages the plant’s mechanical assets, working with the Plant Controller to ensure proper physical inventory and valuation levels.
  • Directs training and indoctrination of maintenance staff to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains maintenance staff by recruiting and selecting qualified individuals.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships to attain the goals of productivity, safety, cost, and quality.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business administration, industrial engineering or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 yrs experience in maintenance of regulated assets
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS and Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Systems
  • Knowledge of effective project management practices and  fiscal budgeting principles and practices
  • Familiarity with Medical Device and Sterilization equipment  & Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery
  • Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office programs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
