Job Description

VOLT Workforce Solutions partnered with a Nutraceutical company located in Northern NJ and seeking a Maintenance Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity. 


  • Enforces the safety policies, while ensuring a safe work environment and safe work practices/behaviors
  • Understands and strictly follows all GMP, SOP, SSOP, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Quality, and Allergen Control programs and policies, reporting any hazards immediately
  • Manages a team of approx. 12 employees (coaching, training, development, disciplinary, rewards and recruitment)
  • Defines and respects the OPEX budget for the department
  • Lead the onsite CAPEX projects and act as a project leader (manages CAPAX budget as well)
  • Strive to improve reliability, maintenance, and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of mechanical downtime
  • Implement preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process through equipment improvement modifications
  • Track and maintain the required training of the maintenance team members, especially mandatory training and certifications
  • Collect, organize and follow the technical requests of the different teams/people working on site
  • Update the preventive maintenance plan as needed
  • Responsible to ensure all machinery and production equipment is properly functioning
  • Ability to schedule, organize and follow complex/technical projects & provide senior management with updates
  • Ensures the contractors working on site respect safety and GMP rules


  • BS or MS Degree in Engineering and at least 7 years related experience working in an industrial or production environment with at least 5 years’ experience supervising an industrial team
  • Must ensure a safe work environment and provide a proactive attitude for continuous improvement on Safety
  • Superb engineering and technical skills (i.e. mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.)
  • Must have knowledge of production line maintenance including PLC’s, mechanical, hydraulic,pneumatic power, steam, VFD’s, motor controls, refrigeration systems and high pressure boilers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and fluent in coaching, problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel, and experience working on an ERP system
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, as needed
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a cold or hot environment
  • Ability to carry up to 50lbs
  • Must be available to be on-call for nights and week-end as well as being available to work during week-end projects

Salary: up to $107,000 for the right candidate
