Pharmaceutical Company in North Brunswick, NJ  is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift.This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

Summary:

  • Mechanical and electrical work in the maintenance and repair of light to medium duty packaging
  • Processing and building equipment such as conveyors, elevators, blowers, sifters, burners, grinders, conventional & high-speed  packaging machines, tablet compression and encapsulation equipment, vacuum & hydraulic pumps, forklifts and air compressors. 
  • You will be working independently or with minimal supervision applying mechanical/electrical knowledge and considerable independent judgment in the repair, overhaul and remanufacturing of plant equipment.

About the role:

  • Perform typical building maintenance repairs through assigned work orders.
  • Requisition shop supplies and equipment such as replacement parts, hardware, lubricants, tools, testing instruments and gauges and preventative work order assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and repairs motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives and sub-electrical panels utilizing volt and amp meters.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and other precision instruments to determine working clearances on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Troubleshooting and performance testing of production machinery. 
  • Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
  • Respond to emergency calls including snow removal, utility failures, and disaster response.
  • Undertake and complete projects and initiatives as defined and assigned by the upper Management
  • Serve as the contractor liaison and the liaison between the operations and maintenance groups for both the day-today and down-day planning.
  • Operates and/or repairs Mechanical Systems such as Boilers, HVAC/R, Compressed Air Systems, Pneumatics, Pumps, and Electrical.
  • Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMP’s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOP’s at all times.
  • Able to work extended hours, sometimes without notice, and occasional weekend overtime.
  •  Must be able to provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections from various organization such as OSHA, Environmental Protection, and Fire Department.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, Technical or Vocational training is a plus.
  • 3+ years in maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ Years work experience in a regulated industry such as nutritionals, vitamins, food manufacturing is preferred.
  • License or certifications in electronics, pneumatics and/or hydraulics preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, pneumatic, boilers, compressed air systems, pumps, hydraulic and Mechanical systems as required. PLC is a plus.
  • General PC proficiency and work order systems etc.
  • The ability to recognize a safety issue or potential safety issue
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously; apply critical thinking.
  • Understands and is knowledgeable of cGMP, OSHA standards etc.
  • Able to read from schematics and blueprints.

2nd shift Schedule:  Monday- Friday 3:00 PM -11:30 PM

Pay Range:  $28.00-$30.00/hr
