Job Description

VOLT Workforce Solutions has partnered with a manufacturing company  in personal care and skincare products located in Edison, NJ. They are currently in need of a Maintenance Mechanic – Class A for the 1st Shift due to company expansion!  In this role  you will optimize production output, packaging concepts and compounding process equipment reliability in line with ensuring that all the equipment is operating properly.  You will understand all safety norms and follow cosmetic industry standards. You must work as part of the maintenance group working together as a team and independently.

About the Job

  • Analyze packaging results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of production and processing machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Fabricate and install new parts as required.
  • Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
  • Work hand in hand and train Jr Lead and Lead Production Operators on machine functions

Qualifications needed:

  • Minimum of  five years related experience or equivalent in a Manufacturing / Pharma or Cosmetics Industry.
  • Must have experience with production equipment, particularly tube filling , labeling and other packaging equipment to be considered
  • Experience with Nordon, Unipack, Kalix machines
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Equipment Maintenance -- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing -- Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Equipment Selection -- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Installation -- Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Design- Create innovated solutions and process upgrade

1st shift : 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
