Job Description

Maintenance Technician III- Injection Molding 

Under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician III performs advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance to molding/production machines and related equipment. Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Customer Satisfaction, Innovation, Family, and Social Responsibility.

Experience Required:

Minimum six years of experience in injection molding maintenance or related field.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

  1. Performs machine start-up, setup and changeovers. Lubricate and change/clean filters.
  2. Moves machines and installs redesigned parts and systems to injection molding and assembly machines.
  3. Works with Production team members to ensure they are satisfied with equipment maintenance performed.
  4. Documents equipment repairs, and maintenance performed to machinery and associated equipment, utilizing correct documentation procedures.
  5. Submits suggestions for electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic performance-improving modifications to molding and assembly machines and related equipment. Performs electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC program modification or upgrade to enhance equipment performance.
  6. Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance activities. Communicates with production team members to ensure they are satisfied with maintenance service provided.
  7. Trains other technicians in all areas of equipment repair and maintenance.
  8. Generates and implements equipment maintenance procedures.
  9. Evaluates needs and generates part requisitions to ensure replacement parts are stocked in inventory.
  10. Seeks to improve own skill level by participating in apprenticeship program, taking job-related courses, and attending technical seminars.

Other Job Functions:

May be required to work overtime and/or varying hours as necessary.

Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.


Education/Training Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
