Job Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of the facility to drive operational efficiency and uptime, compliance with all company, local, state, federal, 3rd party requirements, update and maintain PM schedule of all equipment on site and support all new capital projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems.
  • Completes repairs and activities as directed
  • Performs pipefitting layout and installation including repairs to existing equipment. 
  • Makes electrical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation, and/or controls. 
  • Performs rigging work including installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment. 
  • Completes carpentry and general facility repairs.            
  • Maintains compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), plant and departmental procedures and guidelines. 
  • Maintains level of housekeeping/sanitation which meets Company practices and policies.
  • Set- up, adjust and maintain equipment with responsibility for production and quality on equipment.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment                 
  • Experience with production schedules and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
  • Use maintenance software for all work orders and preventative maintenance
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Plumbing repairs, drains and faucets
  • Help manage the contractor/vendors needs when on-site:
    • HVAC contractor (quarterly)
    • Fabrication contractor

Electrical contractor (large projects for: EH&S, Building code compliance, High Pile Storage compliance and OSHA compliance)

  • Re-roofing project (2020)
  • Wastewater contractor (monthly)
  • Forklift services (monthly)
  • Bi-annual service/repair of all Roll-up door
  • Other duties:
    • Safety committee meetings
    • CFT meetings
    • Maintenance rail meetings
    • Audit, corrective actions
    • Food Defense meetings
    • EH&S meetings and corrective actions
    • Monthly self-audits, corrective actions (monthly)
  • Reports directly to:
    • Facility/Manufacturing Maintenance Manager.
    • And as needed, the Plant Manager and Production Supervisor.

Education, Certifications, Experience:

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or a minimum of five years’ non-automotive mechanical experience, or a combination of education and work experience.

5+ years of experience in the Food and Beverage Industry preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Maintenance software programs. Able to perform on-line searches, collect information for repairs, vendors/contractor’s information, parts purchasing etc. in the support of Manufacturing/Facility services and repairs.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong skill set in maintaining and repairing Mechanical and Electrical systems.

Able to read electrical schematics, P&ID, facility layouts, architectural drawings, and mechanical drawings. Stainless steel fabrication and design experience highly desired.
