Job Description

Manufacturing company located in Clark, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to assist their 1st shift operations. 

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 6:45AM-2:30PM 
Direct Hire position!

The Manufacturing Mechanic will have strong instrumentation and electrical skills and experience in PLC programming to be considered. 

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and perform equipment and facility repairs, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, mixing and filling equipment, VFDs, and programmable ladder logic controllers
  • Tests, installs, modifies, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, wiring and lighting, such as transformers, power distribution panels, motor control centers, AC/DC controls, disconnects, motors, power supplies, sensors, alarms, HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, metering devices, computer hardware, and computer periphery equipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to all equipment within the facility
  • Operate the computerized maintenance management system for requisitioning materials and preventative maintenance
  • Participate in company-provided maintenance training programs
  • Assure that all duties are performed safely and in compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety requirements
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years maintenance experience required, with working knowledge of process, utilities, packaging and other manufacturing equipment
  • Must be skilled electrician with successful PLC experience and be able to perform minor programming, logic or control changes, and system updates
  • Knowledge of the use of a digital volt-ohm-milliammeter (DVOM) and other test equipment
  • Knowledge of the use of and can apply knowledge in electric, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, electrical equipment, electric motors, electrical construction, VFDs, and Alien-Bradley PLCs
  • Must be familiar with the National Electric Code
  • Ability to read blueprints and to revise drawings for modifications
  • Ability to take field measurement and provide sketches for fabrication
  • Willingness and ability to work all shifts and overtime, as required
  • Ability to perform heavy physical industrial work to include, but not limited to: frequent lifting up to 60lbs, ; Ability to read, interpret and relay safety procedures. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as: ear plugs; steel toed work boots; safety eyeglasses; face shield; dust mask; respirator; cotton/leather gloves, etc.
  • Have the ability to perform multiple trade capabilities. This position could require, but is not limited to: mechanical skills, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, snow removal and grounds maintenance duties.

Pay will range, depending on experience, between $23.00-$27.00/hr.
