Volt is looking for a qualified Maintenance Technician/Mechanic for our client in SE Portland. Qualified candidates should have 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment. Experience within the food manufacturing field is preferred, but not required.

Position will require an OLCC Marijuana handlers card, or ability to attain one


  • 5+ years of electrical and mechanical maintenance/repair of industrial production equipment. (Experience in the food production industry preferred, but not required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with Quick Books is a huge plus.
  • Experience working on/with electrical systems, plumbing, PLC’s, HVAC’s, and welding.
  • Oregon Journeyman License or LME License is preferred
  • Basic math skills, use of precision measuring devices.
  • OLCC Marijuana Handlers card, or ability and willingness to attain one.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily use of hand tool, power tools, and electrical tools. Use of electronic testing equipment to diagnose issues.
  • Develop and support of preventative maintenance procedures. Perform PM on machines per standard policies
  • Learn and understand the operations of each machine, to help ensure each machine is operating at peak efficiency.
  • By use of schematics, prints, and manuals, ensure all wiring, PLC’s, and pneumati's are properly running.
  • Use of machines such as drill press, mill, lathe, and other fabrication equipment to produce any required parts for repair.
  • Oversee ordering or sourcing of parts required for operation or repair.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, or issues/concerns with each machine.
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls
