Maintenance Mechanics– All Levels

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORT TO: Operations Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB FUNCTION:
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Perform maintenance of repair or replacement as required on manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Mechanic 1
? Responsible for reporting, troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment, mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
? Responsible for management of equipment inventory and hazardous materials/waste.
? Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and EHS inspections of plant equipment according to applicable laws and standards.
? Responsible for proper and safe handling of hand/power tools and machines required for maintenance.
? Responsible for operating a fork-lift and scissor lift.
? Responsible for driving zero-downtime initiatives by assisting and communicating with production department managers.
? Perform additional related duties as assigned.
? Assist with cleaning and general house-keeping activities.
? Experience in the field (0-2 years).
Maintenance Mechanic 2
? Repair and maintenance of facility HVAC equipment. Perform routine plumbing repair and installation.
? Fabrication and repair of equipment and machinery utilizing GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW.
? Experience in the field (3-6 years).
Maintenance Mechanic 3
? Knowledge of high-voltage, 3-phase electrical circuitry, and induction melting.
? Mechanical knowledge and ability to breakdown and repair CNC and manual lathe equipment.
? Experience in the field (7+ years).
Maintenance Mechanic 4
? Experience of Level 2 and 3.
? Must have experience with continuous casting machines and power supplies.
? Experience in the field (10+ years).
QUALITY:
? Must Understand Quality Policy and Objectives, and how they their job function contributes.
? Must understand the relevance and importance of meeting customer requirements.
? Must develop competence to applicable procedures, specifications, and work instructions associated with this job.
? Immediately notify supervisor and/or Quality department upon discovery of nonconforming product.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY (EHS):
? Know and understand  EHS Policy and how it relates to the requirements and tasks associated with the job.
? Anticipate and immediately report any unusual or unsafe situation to the Shift Supervisor, Department Manager, or EHS Coordinator.
? Follow safe operating instructions and only operate equipment if properly trained and according to manufacturer’s

specifications.
? Attend all required EHS training related to the job description by designated deadlines (See EHS Training Matrix).
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Team oriented, self-motivated, safety and quality conscious; requiring minimal supervision.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• May be required to operate basic shop equipment (hoist, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
• Be mechanically inclined.
• Must be able to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights of 25 feet.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
? Minimum 1-year technical experience reading drawings and blueprints.
? 2 years of job experience in manufacturing maintenance.
? Basic machining experience with a manual lathes preferred.
? Basic math knowledge and calculations. Must be able to read, write, and speak in English.
? Basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical knowledge a preferred.
