Job Description

A great company in Santa Barbara, Ca. is in need of a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering healthcare  Benefits, PTO and Retirement  401K. 

Responsibilities:

Cleans, inspects, and/or lubricates recyclable sorting equipment or performs routine maintenance or minor repairs on recycling equipment, such as star gears, finger sorters, belts, and grinders. Recycling equipment such as discs and belts.


• Study specifications such as blueprints, electrical schematics, line diagrams, sketches and/or descriptions.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of plant equipment as assigned
• Replenish parts and supplies using standard purchasing procedures. Maintain manual and/or computerized work orders and records as directed. 
• Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint. Communicate and work together with other techs, mechanics, and managers if necessary.
• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs including suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
• Follow procedures including documenting all repairs on work order and turning in all repair orders in a timely manner.
• Attend all scheduled safety meetings. Report any safety or equipment related issues to your supervisor. 
• Maintain your designated work area in a clean and orderly condition. This will include putting away tools and making sure that the work area is clean and prepared for the next service.

Qualifications: 
• Must be able to work on Conveyor belts and Motors that drive the belts.
• Principles of automotive repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical and control systems and have reached a high level of competency within a specific trade or discipline (e.g. welding, millwright, mechanics), but will have a functioning ability level in multiple areas.
• Recognize routine mechanical difficulties and malfunctions.
• Use of variety hand, power tools, and equipment.
• Safe work practices.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma. Minimum of 2 year of mechanic service and repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
