Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for a great Manufacturing facility in Ventura County.   This is a great opportunity you would want to consider!   Submit your resume today and start the process tomorrow.    

 Summary: Will provide a single contact for all in process, scheduled work, line down, or stopped production work; while providing a central source of information concerning maintenance work, equipment, and equipment repair. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will be responsible to rebuild and re-organize the tool and parts inventory process; including recording of all usable and defunct equipment tracked in the IFS database. This role would also include planning, scheduling and coordination of all preventive maintenance performed within the facility. Restructure the maintenance parts, purchasing and receiving flow. Must have previous maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude, in order to understand parts that are no longer available, while sourcing viable alternatives. Work daily to reduce total cost of maintenance; improve the conditions surrounding the parts inventory and planning process toward a more efficient preventive and predictive maintenance tracking system.


  • Purchase the highest quality products at the lowest possible price and in the right amount to prevent shortage and waste.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selections, service, and support.
  • Analyze price proposals, supplier viability, and data and information to determine reasonable prices.
  • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods are received on time and mitigate risk in the event of delays or undelivered goods.
  • Confer with staff, users and vendors, to discuss defective or substandard goods, or services and determine corrective action.
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items, purchases, cost, delivery, product performance and inventories.
  • Review catalogs, industry periodicals, trade journals, and internet sites, and consult with other department personnel to located new/best sources for goods and services.
  • Study sales records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies.
  • Interview vendors and visit suppliers’ plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services and prices.
  • Write and review product specifications and maintain a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased.
  • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.
  • Potential travel might be necessary for interactive meetings with other APP Inc. facilities, outside trainings or meetings.
  • Report KPI (Key Performance Indicator) data as required by Managers, to assess, analyze and track maintenance vendor performance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to operate company vehicle.


Education and/or Experience

  • 5 years’ experience as related purchasing agent/planner capacity or related industry; including 2+ years in maintenance or 4+ years’ progressive experience in maintenance.
  • Applicable knowledge of contract management and price negotiations.

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be fluent in English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
  • Should be able to work overtime.
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision.
  • Must have the ability to learn customized database system (IFS).
  • Intermediate to advanced Computer Skills including MS Office and solid knowledge of customized database systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced math skills.
