Global door-to-door shipping solutions cargo company known primarily for expertise in classic and new vehicle transportation, commercial freight, household goods, and complex project and oversize cargo is currently looking for a skilled Maintenance Specialist!

Job Title: Maintenance Specialist

Pay Range: $ 15 - $19 per hour based on experience

Location: Paramount, CA 

Experience: 2+ years’ experience desirable

Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining and conducting preventive work to the physical assets of the properties under the direction of the Facilities Manager.  Ensuring that the facility is always safe and properly maintained.   

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests
  • Maintains inventory controls for cost effective operations
  • Creates, schedules and completes a "Preventative Maintenance Program"
  • Is able to help with basic IT work and work with IT on remote assist projects
  • Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services
  • Responsible for emergency maintenance service as needed
  • Monitor and maintain all building systems in various locations as assigned
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Load and unload supplies, and move heavy furniture and equipment using dollies, handcarts, or power equipment
  • Complete grounds work as directed by Manager which may include housekeeping and maintaining landscaping
  • Is able to operate machinery like fork/scissor lifts, machine shop equipment like electric drills & saws
  • Makes sure that safety standards are used to comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines
  • In charge of acquiring and getting bids from outside vendors/contractors
  • Assist/supervise and monitor all work being performed by outside vendors/contractors
  • Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
  • Using a company credit card and following company credit card guidelines
  • Properly punch in and out using time clocks and mileage reimbursement submission to supervisor
  • Coordinates special projects as directed by the Manager

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • High School Diploma is desirable
  • Read, write and speak English
  • Punctual, organized, productive, and ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Must know how to use a computer, read/compose emails, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used for facility maintenance
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules
  • Must have valid/active California Driver’s License
  • Must be able to travel locally (to run errands) and within the US to our other locations (if needed)

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment as well as a warehouse environment (in which adhering to safety rules is a must). This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, laptops, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • This job requires exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds. The ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Have the ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support repetitive or continuous movements
  • Ability to climb stairs and ramps, twist body repeatedly, ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, lift, grasp, talk, hear and have a good vision
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to manage confined space entry and climb ladders and steps
  • Ability to work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
  • Ability to drive a vehicle, a valid driver’s license and good driving record are required
