I have a Tempt-to- Hire position for a Maintenance Supervisor that we are looking to hire IMMEDIATELY for a Personal Care Product manufacturing com. Below is the description:

Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
City: Culver city- relocating to Bell, CA
State: California
Job Duration: Temp-to-hire
Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time / Hourly
Schedule: M-F Must be flexible to OT and possible weekends
Pay Rate: 60-80k

This Plant is currently located in Culver City, Ca and is in transition to Bell, Ca for the next 16 - 24 weeks.

Job Description

Basic Purpose

Schedule and direct a team of Maintenance and Facility Mechanics involved in one or more craft specialties including mechanical and electrical functions; train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more of the skilled trades. Assist in determining equipment and supply needs, drive CMMS program, budget the appropriate costs related to preventative and reactionary maintenance demands, as well as ensuring that the production lines operate at optimum efficiencies.

General Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance team; mechanical and electrical skills trades.
  • Assign and schedule day to day maintenance activities.
  • Oversee daily timekeeping and monitor OT demands.
  • Couch and develop maintenance team members.
  • Assist with Troubleshooting, use of analytical root cause analysis methods.
  • Understanding of Pneumatic controls, Hydraulic controls PLC controls and Motor Controls systems.
  • Experience with automation systems for packaging equipment.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical systems; clutch systems, seals, bearings, gear box/ tear down and rebuild methods.
  • Knowledge of boilers, steam systems, compressors, refrigeration, and water towers.
  • Provide input for performance review completion, and monitor work assigned to crew members.
  • Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with Federal, State, Local codes, and Company regulations.
  • Assist in the purchase, installation, and IQOQPQ validation of equipment, and provide training to maintenance and production personnel in the safe use of equipment.
  • Estimate the cost of labor and materials for work orders; and validate the work performed by outside contractors when used for maintenance activities. Purchase tools, supplies and materials within budgetary restrictions.
  • Experience with sanitary equipment and sanitation methods GMPs.
  • Knowledge of welding and general machine shop equipment.
  • Ability to operate man lifts, fork trucks and general material handling equipment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by department manager

Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities, scheduling, and laying out assigned work activities.
  • Ability to develop standard work SOP for maintenance team.
  • Ability to generate downtime reports and assist Plant Engineer with performance KPI's.
  • Manage Maintenance shop and spare parts inventory.
  • Oversee PM program for all production lines.
  • Work with production teams to meet efficiency and attainment goals for the facility.
  • Ensure all mechanics follow company standards for SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Knowledge of Motor Controls, Programmable Logic Controllers, PLC's and VFD's.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and developing maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to read technical mechanical, electrical diagrams and schematics to trouble shoot and maintain equipment in OEM condition.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supervisory role in a fast pace manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field required.
