Location: La Mirada, CA
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced industrial maintenance technician with 5+ years of job experience. The successful applicant will work in the Maintenance Department supporting facilities and production equipment through application of electrical, mechanical and interpersonal communications skills.  The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and demonstrate a willingness to contribute wherever their skills can help to ensure the success of the business.  

Job Purpose:
Maintains facilities and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; Installing new or restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative machines, components and parts.  
Duties:
* Is an asset to the business in every way.  Promotes great working relationships, is humble, helpful and courteous, and values the contributions of co-workers.  Contributes to improving the best-known methods and acknowledges and supports decisions made by management. 
*Works independently.  Is able to take an assignment and scope out all needed resources to complete the job.  Is able to call supplier technical services to obtain needed assistance, documentation and parts.  Can verbalize needs and forecast work duration.  Is organized, neat and shows concern for the cleanliness of the workplace.
*Affects repairs by following schematics, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
* Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs both verbally and using the company computer information systems. Shows concern for the accuracy and completeness of records, work orders and reports including reporting on activities and completing logs, checksheets, and parts lists. 
* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
Educational Requirements:
*High School Diploma. Excellent reading, writing and general math skills.  Accomplished at use of a computer for communicating, documentation, internet search and parts sourcing purposes.  
*Electrician’s license or at a minimum Certified Journeyman Electrician status.
(Or) 
*Electronics Degree from a College, Junior College or Technical Trade School, or equivalent Military Certification (AA, AS or higher) with education (Certifications better) and experience in Industrial Electricity including knowledge of electrical codes and ability to run conduit, set disconnects, pull wire, set breakers, install and troubleshoot motor starters and contactors.
*More preferred are the Electrical Certifications above with additional experience and qualifications in PLC or embedded controller, Frequency Drives, metal fabrication, machining, welding, hydraulics, pipe fitting or plumbing. 
*Minimum experience in manufacturing maintenance: 5 years, preferred 7+ years.
Skills/General Qualifications:
*Experience in Equipment and Facilities Maintenance with knowledge of Electrical/Electronics Troubleshooting, Mechanical repair and Building repair.  
*Knowledgeable in the use of dvm, amp probe / clamp and other electrical and electronic test equipment.
*Knowledgeable in the installation and maintenance of AC power including panelboards, transformers, conduit installation and wire sizes and ampacities.
*Knowledgeable in the installation and maintenance of AC and DC motors, and experience with the use and troubleshooting of frequency drive problems.
*Understanding of PLC controls and troubleshooting.  Rudimentary PLC Programming skills a definite plus.
*Knowledgeable in the use of power and machine tools, forklift, scissor and boom lifts and similar equipment. Experience moving machinery.
*Ability to Analyze Schematics, Drawings and Diagrams, to understand functionality, and to repair or replace parts and assemblies as needed to meet specifications. 
*Ability to bend, squat, lift and reach overhead with a maximum limit of 50-75lbs 
*Experience using computer maintenance management work order entry software.
*Working knowledge and training regarding NFPA 70E Electrical Safety.
