Job Description

Volt is currently looking to fill multiple positions for Manufacturing and Assembly Operators in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  Manufacturing operators are cross trained within our 4 different production areas (Furnish, Forming, Turning & Saw) to get our product ready for final assembly.   

2nd shift–  Pay: $13.50/hour  Schedule: 2:30PM to 10:30PM

There are times when overtime will be offered or required; sometimes on Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Reliable & Dependable and ability to follow written & verbal instructions
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Print or stamp lot numbers on end caps.
  • Glue end caps onto filter cartridges.
  • Sonic weld cartridge assemblies, attach gaskets and crimp end caps.
  • Shrink-wrap individual filters, label individual filters as required.
  • Pack fully assembled filters into cartons and label with quantity, lot number and type of cartridge.
  • Accurately records required information on completed work
  • Inspects all aspects of the assembly and packaging processes and notifies the Shift Supervisor of any quality concerns.  This includes inspection of filter media, end caps, shrink film and cartons
  • Maintains a neat, orderly and safe work environment
  • Set up, clean and change inks on the printer.
  • Change nozzles, set proper glue spread and install and adjust all tooling at any glue station.
  • Change film, clean critical parts and make adjustments to the shrink-wrap unit for product changeovers or whenever required.
  • Perform training on equipment within the Finishing Department, as required, for new or inexperienced employees.
  • Show leadership in maintaining acceptable safety habits and general department morale.
  • Assist in scheduling assembly of products within the department.
  • Anticipate the need to set up an idle glue station and fully prepare it for a scheduled product.
  • Provide an ongoing supply of glue, end caps, gaskets and filter cartridges.
  • Transporting finished filter cartridges to shrink wrap or packaging.
  • Accurately preparing required inventory records and maintaining an organized in process filter cartridge area.
  • Ensuring an adequate supply of clean nozzles and tooling.
  • Assists in monitoring activities within the department to ensure quality of the end product.
  • Assists less experienced department personnel in setting up their equipment or making necessary adjustments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Must be physically able to lift & carry up 25 pounds
  • Working in a production environment you will be on standing and walking 8-12 hours at a time, regularly lifting, bending, and twisting
  • You could be asked to lift up to 50lbs periodically, but more frequently asked to lift or carry materials can weigh between 20-30lbs
  • We train and expect everyone to follow ergonomically correct posture when working to prevent injury

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in communicating (oral and written) in English.
  • Must be able to do simple math.
  • Ability to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
