Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Temp)

Location: Auburn, WA

Pay: DOE


General Position Summary:
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for development and implementation of new technology in the manufacture of composite parts and assemblies

Essential Functions:
- Responsible to develop tools, processes, machines and equipment to integrate the facilities and systems for producing quality product with the optimum expenditure of capital.
- Experience with composite process and specifications of thermoset and/or thermoplastic parts and structures.
- Capable of establishing sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble composite products that promote efficient utilization of equipment and labor.
- Capable of implementing new manufacturing processes.
- Capable of supporting various products, equipment and disciplines to increase productivity, quality, efficiency, volume and/or environmental requirements.
- Capable of implementing of continuous improvements by the use of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen methods.
- Capable of creating or providing feedback of production schedules and milestones.
- Experience in establishing qualification plans, in order to qualify processes and equipment to the customer specifications.
- Familiar with composite autoclave or oven curing cycles, thermal profiles, recipes, thermal effects, thermal expansion, wrinkles and tooling spring back effects.
- Capable of designing or defining the requirements for the development of equipment, robotics, - Lay-up molds, Vacuum Holding Fixtures, Shop Aids, Positioning fixtures, Go-No-Go inspection tools required for the manufacturing of new products.
- Coordinates with vendors, staff and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and incident/project status.
- Applies engineering principles when analyzing data and investigating issues..
- Understanding of industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, value engineering principals.
 

Specific Job Skills:


•  Statistical Analysis


•  Problem Solving/Analysis.


•  Read and comprehend drawings and specifications.


•  Skilled in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Project


•  Epicor experience or equivalent ERP system


•  Proficient in Catia V5


•  Familiar with Delmia Siemons or Inventor CFD or equivalent (Thermal Profile)


•  Familiar with COMPRO Simulation Software (Spring Back Issues)


•  Familiar with Fiber Sim Draping Software (Draping and Wrinkles)


•  Understanding of AS9100D and NADCAP standards

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5-7 years
