Now Hiring : Manufacturing Engineer 

Job Summary:

  • Interfacing with other departments to identify opportunities to effectively implement the new concepts for improvement.
  • Work with plant employees to implement and track all lean tools in order to increase throughput, improve quality and reduce costs.
  • Work with the personnel from other departments to implement company-wide improvement initiatives.
  •  Provide engineering changes taking into consideration the cost, operation, reliability, manufacturability, adjustment, assembly, weight, installation, clearances, serviceability, standardization and adherence to industry standards and parameters to assure acceptable feasibility and integrity of product.
  •  Maintain a complete uniform and up-to-date record of all projects which have been completed.
  • Manufacturing representative with authority to identify and evaluate all levels of manufacturing problems and to recommend and initiate effective solutions and corrective actions.
  • Create a commercially practical, technically sufficient and economically sound solution for an assigned product.
  • Determining the nature and working relationship of the various elements between the design and manufacturing processes.
  • Follow up and assist in the preparation, implementation and maintains of the manufacturing processes.
  • Other management duties as assigned.

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

  • Preferably in an automotive related industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a high mix – low volume manufacturing environment.
  • Process improvement experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down tasks, manage and implement larger initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex matters in a simple understandable format to multiple levels
  • Experience with setup reduction, 5S, scheduling, work flow balancing, inventory management, and measuring project success
  • Ability to take initiative in planning, implementing, and sustaining process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the assumptions and status quo, and to create organizational change
  • Experience with standard work. This includes conducting time studies of tasks, balancing these tasks to tact time, creating and posting standard work sheets and then working with supervisors and operators on the implementation of the new standard work
  • Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis), and with statistical techniques and data analysis
  • Must have excellent communication skills with ability to interface directly with hourly employees as well as management level of employee concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates
  • Must possess a high energy level with a strong work ethic
  • Good pc skills with knowledge of excel, word and outlook
  • Basic experience with ISO 9001:2000 quality systems
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Indoor office/Plant floor
  •  Personal Protective Equipment Recommended And/ Or Required: Safety glasses or prescription safety glasses with side shields and ear plugs and close-toed shoes
