Manufacturing Engineer II

This company in Tukwila, WA, (near Seattle) which manufactures innovative load moving equipment, utilizing wheels and hovercraft technology, that move heavy, awkward, or delicate loads in factories is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer II is the key to ensuring production is optimized to produce the highest quality product for our customers at the lowest possible impact to the company in terms of overhead, inventory and risk. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following areas of concern: Continuous Improvement for Production, Design for Manufacturability Reviews, Equipment Selection, Qualification and process validation, Vendor Audits for Capability and Quality, Design Transfer from Design and Development to Production,

Ensuring all process and equipment operate effectively and safely, Monitoring KPI for all processes in manufacturing, Creating and maintaining procedures and work instruction, Perform and maintain Risk Analysis (PHA, HazOp, pFMEA), Develop visual management tools including day by hour and Kanban, Support TPM, Manage equipment Periodic maintenance and repairs as needed. Ancillary Duties include: Participate in Safety Team Meetings, Monitor Waste Streams, Participate in Design Reviews, Participate in Production Planning, Support Production with Routings and MRP, Report KPI status to management.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 5 years experience in the role, or minimum of 8 years of experience in the role and Six Sigma Green Belt. Minimum of 2 years' experience in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma Green Belt. Understanding of ASME Y14.5. Understanding of ISO 9001:2015. Minimum of one dedicated project launch (establish new product to production). Familiarity in Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
