Job Description

Volt is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on-site with our customer John Deere in Moline, IL on contingent assignment forecasted for 1 yearVolt is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate and perform manufacturing engineering activities factory layouts, tool design, & communication of equipment moves. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of moderate scope.
  • Provides support and trouble shooting for current operations.
  • Investigates, gathers and analyze data and implement solutions. Innovates and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas of moderate scope.
  • Applies electronic tools across a broad range of applications, including e-builds, modeling and simulations.
  • Develops and implements plans to support lean manufacturing through the Deere Production System of moderate scope.
  • Designs operations layouts. Improves material flow and material presentation.
  • Leads team studies related to capacity, energy, productivity and efficiency of moderate scope.
  • Leads analysis, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Analyzes and makes modifications to existing performance pay plans; assists in development of baseline data for new performance pay plans.


  • Highly prefer local candidates
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • Looking for candidates with previous experience with assembling products, and experience with AutoCAD, and Creo software.
  • A successful candidate would have 1 to 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or related field.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) concepts and Computer Aided Process Planning concepts
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Demonstrated strong communication and problem solving skills, with experience developing innovative solutions and leadership skills.
  • Experience with non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors).
  • Experience with safety-related manufacturing processes, including ergonomics training and assessments, and machine installation processes.
  • Experience implementing engineering changes
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Knowledge of Concept Tooling and Tooling Design
  • Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation
