Job Description

Seeking a well-organized and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes for our client in Garland, Texas.  This is a direct hire opportunity!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing process improvement projects, including proposals with a timeline and budget for each project
  • Implement entire projects for field generated new plant improvement projects including scope, design development, equipment specification and design, AFE preparation, submittals, material and equipment procurement, construction and execution oversight, as well as project completion documentation
  • Diagnose, recommend and resolve technical or mechanical issues
  • Continuously evaluate plant systems and recommend improvement projects and goals in efficiency and safety
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain mechanical integrity of all plant systems
  • Communicate with company operations personnel and contractors for successful project and process improvement implementation projects
  • Create/maintain an efficient and safe working environment
  • Lead engineering initiatives, schedule/participate in facility maintenance meetings
  • Provide a bridge between engineering and plant departments to evaluate all upcoming capital projects, analyze and obtain required feedback

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of the following: pumps, piping, valves, compound mixing technology, material flow and handling
  • Proven production/process equipment design and diagnosis with controls/automation implementations, ideally using Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley controllers
  • Applied knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Hands on knowledge of structured problem solving techniques, such as 8D, 7-Step, A3
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with basic costing and capitalization understanding, taking projects from concept to production delivery and final release
  • 5+ years of experience/exposure as a manufacturing/plant engineer in a manufacturing environment;
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Plant Engineering (Similar degree may be substituted in conjunction with hands on mechanics experience and skills)
  • Ability to interpret and read Engineering drawings and PID
  • Deep working experience with CAD programs (we use AutoCAD LT)
  • PLC programming experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Project Management Certification is a plus, but not required
