Job Description

Volt is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to support our customer at their Defense Center in Andover, MA.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead manages the development and implementation of cost reduction initiatives and process improvements, while supporting and sustaining active production processes. They are responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of staffing to meet the needs of the customer base.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Production Manufacturing Engineering support,
  • Project Leadership,
  • EVMS reporting and briefing Engineering Leadership
  • Introduction of new product into manufacturing
  • Maintaining Engineering Labor Forecasts
  • Non-Recurring Engineering estimates for new proposals.
  • Provide hands on support to Develop/manage primary and supplemental manufacturing data documentation,
  • Conduct technical versus manufacturing data verifications
  • Plan/develop/manage/document manufacturing tooling and fixtures
  • Develop work cell layouts
  • Conduct safety /ergonomic assessments
  • Develop Labor standards.

Required Skills:

  • Six (6)+ years of experience in manufacturing development and integration
  • Experience with related military and industry standards and specifications
  • Hands-on, RF Assembly/Sub-assembly integration experience in medium to high volume.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical skills during root cause and corrective action development.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Experienced computer user to include, but are not limited to, use of Microsoft Office products suite.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Self-motivated, possess good communication skills and be able to work with limited guidance.
  • Familiar with PDM, PRISM and VBS.
  • Strong teaming and oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of solder workmanship standards.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Knowledge
  • EVMS Certification

Required Education:

  • Bachelor Science Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor Science Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree
