Job Description:

Volt Workforce Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Group Supervisor located in Chanhassen, MN. The individual hired for this position of Manufacturing Group Supervisor will have the opportunity to independently supervise manufacturing work areas in a manner which will achieve group objectives regarding safety, quality, continuous improvement, schedule, cost, training and a positive working environment.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment. Recommends and oversees maintenance and protection of company property assigned areas.
  • Plans daily work assignments and periodic rotations for assigned employees to meet objectives. Delegates routine and important tasks.
  • Shares responsibility and accountability for schedule, quality of product, and safety with direct reports. Sets clear objectives and measures, monitors progress and results.
  • Actively participates in the hiring and selection process to fill open positions. Initiates interviews and selects the best fit candidate.
  • Recommends and leads development of updates or new training programs as necessary. Maintains and supports ongoing training programs. Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ abilities. Conducts regular discussions with employees on personal development. Motivates employees, teams, and project members. Comfortable with empowering others.
  • Conducts timely, effective performance reviews in accordance with company guidelines. Regularly meets with assigned employees one-on-one to verbally review performance. Provides current, direct, complete and action-able feedback that is both constructive and positive.
  • Communicates regularly to assigned employees on matters such as business conditions, goals, trends, accomplishments, pay plan updates, and information on benefits and policies. Fosters open dialogue within work unit and across work units.
  • Has knowledge of, and consistently and fairly administers and supports company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Attends all required Rosemount supervisory training, and applies concepts to work situations.
  • Trained and knowledgeable on current industry manufacturing methods. Can apply and implement these methods in assigned work areas.
  • Effective in formal presentation settings inside and outside of organization.
  • Actively participate on cross functional process improvement teams and implements lean manufacturing principles in assigned work area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in manufacturing supervisory role required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Thrive in a team environment and work well with others
  • Comfortable with the Microsoft suite of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Able to work on 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 1:30 AM) Monday - Thursday
