Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Manager for one of the top companies in beautiful Santa Barbara. This is an excellent opportunity to join the team of a growing company. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Manufacturing Manager leads all manufacturing, quality assurance and safety activities for a high-volume electronics  production, to achieve world-class quality, on-time-deliveries, at the lowest cost possible. 


  • Lead a team of 50-75 people, including assemblers, production leads, supervisors and quality assurance inspectors in our onsite production facility.
  • Achieve daily production goals while meeting or exceeding yield, thru-put, efficiency and quality targets (see metrics below).
  • Working with manufacturing engineering, continuously improve the production processes in safety, ergonomics, thru-put, yield and efficiency.
  • Oversee the RMA process and insure timely corrective actions are completed and communicated.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to ensure quality and yield improvement.
  • Promote and ensure a safe working environment in compliance with all Seek Thermal and governmental safety standards and regulations.
  • Advance lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., identify and eliminate waste, manage flow cells, kaizen, etc.)
  • Oversee and support thorough finished goods quality validations and conduct Root Cause Analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent the reoccurrence of issues affecting manufacturing performance and quality.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, ESD compliant and organized manufacturing environment.
  • Lead, train and be the top “disciple” in the implementation of ISO Quality System
  • Key Metrics to be reported and improved upon will, at a minimum be:
    • Daily build rate
    • Scrap yield
    • 1st pass thru-put yields
    • On-Time-Delivery
    • Hours per Unit
    • Cost per unit
    • Unplanned downtime
    • Attrition
    • Out-going acceptance rate
    • RMA as a percentage of sales
    • Meantime to solve CAR’s


  • Proven supervisory, managerial and leadership skills to lead and motivate a large production team required.
  • Must be skilled at hiring, assessing and evaluating staff members to ensure a high level of productivity and a team of production employees that are consistent with our culture and core values.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles required
  • Experience in camera production, infrared imaging, microelectronics assembly and automation highly desired
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Experience in prior ISO certification implementations and adherence required
  • Excellent team building and employee development skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to align cross functional organizations to meet organizational objectives required

QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and experience)

  • BA/BS degree in a technical field preferred
  • 10 years in a managerial position leading production teams in a high-volume electronics production environment
