Job Description

Volt is looking for a Manufacturing Lab Technician.

Performs manufacturing processes and procedures in accordance with the Quality system.

  • Understands and commits to following Quality principles, including standards for training and documentation, and storage requirements for products, raw materials and WIP. Complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Uses training to recognize deviations from normal product properties or equipment operation and communicates promptly. May assist in troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Initiates non-conformance reports of materials/products and contributes to investigations and root cause analysis by collecting and supplying information.
  • May use education and job knowledge to suggest and/or assist in determining required revisions to existing procedures, and/or to serve as a reviewer for proposed changes.
  • Labeling products and assembly of kits in accordance with standard procedures/Quality system with little or no supervision within assigned task time.
  • Assist in maintaining stock/organization of raw materials and movement of finished goods.
  •  Bulk reagent manufacture and dispensing.

May also assist with resolving technical issues, as well as maintenance of production equipment. May assist in process improvements.

  • 2-5 years of experience in wet lab environment, preferably with at least some experience in industry.
  • Must have experience with pipettors, balances and pH meters.
  • Experience with some of the following: autoclaves, conductivity meters, spectrophotometers, gel apparatus, fraction collectors, centrifugal evaporators, lyophilizers, and centrifuges.
  • Previous experience working in a GLP environment under a Quality System highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with AKTA, HPLC and/or UPLC highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in protein purification, conjugation or glycobiology highly preferred.
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented. Multitasking capabilities required.
