Job Description

A great manufacturing company in Goleta is hiring for Project Coordinator! This is a direct hire opportunity with a company that offers amazing benefits. 

Responsibilities are;

  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of project schedules, project budgets, project execution plans.
  • Uses and understands ERP database to track and expedite project materials, processes, and resources.
  • Assists and expedites project teams consisting of department managers, department employees, and outside contractors and suppliers.    
  • Participates in, and occasionally chairs project status meetings with all responsible departments to monitor project execution.
  • Tracks project milestones and deliverables; manages project deficiencies and critical paths.
  • Continuously monitors and manages project budgets, including personnel labor charges, project expenses, and milestone payments.
  • Assists in developing progress report, internal status reports, status meeting agendas, and presentations to customers and Senior Management. 
  • Assists in identifying and managing all changes to Projects’ scope.  
  • Works continuously to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality internal and external customer service.
  • Assists in transitioning proposal information into project data at project award.
  • Assists in creating project related schedules, budgets, and plans during the proposal phase.
  • Hosts and organizes customer visits, including meeting preparation, travel planning and scheduling, creating and managing agendas, and keeping minutes.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in engineering (mechanical, electrical or structural) or related technical field supplemented by training and experience sufficient to demonstrate the ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.

Training and Experience:

1-3 years of successful experience as a program or project manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment involving the design and manufacture of heavy machinery or equipment.  

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of typical company procedures and methods for the design, purchase, manufacture, testing and transportation of custom machine equipment items and systems for use in the offshore oil industry; document change practices and procedures; document control systems; office practices and procedures; MS Office software applications to prepare spreadsheets, reports, statistical data and correspondence; project management software. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; to bring projects to successful completion on schedule and within budget; to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities; to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently; to be flexible during times of change; to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines;  to be persuasive, encouraging and motivating; to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, customers and other departments; to defuse tension among project team members, should it arise; to exercise sound judgment; to learn, understand and apply new technologies. 
  • Strong project management software skills (MS Project); strong English written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products; effective customer service skills.
