Job Description

Our client, a US-based defense contractor is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II in North Dallas:

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Prepare and perform CdZnTe crystal growth as well as post growth processing.  This includes, but is not limited to CdZnTe material handling, chemicals handling, furnace operation, saw, and final metrology and material inspection. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS .

  • AS Degree with 2+ years experience (or equivalent experience) in electronics, chemistry, material science, or related discipline.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Computer literacy and mechanical inclination
  • Previous manufacturing experience.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in Welding or Glass Blowing.
  • Experience in silicon material growth and processing.
  • Familiar with electronic apparatus controls, high temperature reactors,  IDSaws, Xray.
  • Must be a team player
  • Proficient in Math and computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and  database access.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operation of required equipment in crystal growth (ie furnaces, saws, etc…)
  • Performing metrology (XRay) measurements on product.
  • Product preparation and cleaning using acids and solvents.
  • Utilizing a database to track materials and perform calculations.
  • Responsibility to include thru-put and  quality of these operations.
  • Interprets Process Flow Instructions and other written or verbal instructions.
  • Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule, within budget and to SPC standard practices.
  • Recognize, communicate, and respond to process deviations and help identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (E.g. Lifting – Ability to lift 25 lbs less than 5% per week or up to 20% per year, Walking, Bending, Stooping, Kneeling etc.)

  • Lifting – 25  lbs
  • Standing 70%

WORK CONDITIONS (E.g. Travel – Up to 25% per year)

  • Flexibility in schedule to work OT.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment wearing PPE (Safety glasses, smock, gloves, hairnet, ESD Shoes.
