Job Description

VOLT is currently searching for a driven, success oriented experienced manufacturing technician who enjoys working in a highly talented integrated product development team towards the common goal of new technology creation and production of custom electronic systems for a variety of US Government customers at our Columbia, MD location. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including performing assembly and rework of a variety of production subassemblies, and final assemblies. 
  • Performs a variety of duties in the electromechanical and production assembly areas including surface mount printed circuit board assembly, mechanical assembly and harnesses 
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. 
  • May provide training to less experienced team members. May participate in program or functional team projects developing process improvement methods, solutions and procedures to enhance program quality, cost and scheduling.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a High School Diploma and 8+ years’ experience.
  • Working knowledge of J-STD-001 or IPC-610 and IPC-620 required, certification desired.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with Aegis FactoryLogix, 3-D modeling software such as SolidWorks and Altium CAD tools a real plus.
  • MS Word and Excel Skills.
