Job Description

Volt is looking for a Manufacturing Weld Engineer to work on-site with our customer in Ankeny, IA on a 1-year assignment in a manufacturing and agriculture environmentThe Weld Manufacturing Engineer you will provide support to designated production weld work centers. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with Operations, Industrial Engineering, Assembly Engineering, Paint Engineering, Quality Engineering and Product Designs teams in the development and maintenance of manual and automated weld manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and verify sequence of events (SOE) and cost to pay standards.
  • Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
  • Complete cProjects tasks associated with current product changes.
  • Design and implement new welding processes and work centers.
  • Improve current welding process work centers.

Requirements

  • Ideally, you will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Weld Engineering / Technical Engineering degree or commensurate experience in a weld manufacturing shop floor environment.
  • In addition, we require: Background in Mechanical and Weld Engineering or a minimum 3 years’ experience in weld manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.
  • Working knowledge of database management tools, PRO-E cad system, excellent overall computer skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of wage, salaried and management personnel in a team environment.
  • We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment.
  • A strong candidate will also have experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design or manufacturing.
