Job Summary

This position holds ultimate responsibility for the organization’s marketing communication (MarCom) activities. The position oversees the development and delivery of an integrated MarCom program fully aligned to the corporate growth strategy. Primary goals are to build customer loyalty to the brand and its products, generate qualified sales leads, and capture customer and market intelligence.

Major responsibilities of this position include 

Develop a strategic, global MarCom strategy to include overall brand recognition, as well as market segmentation and targeted messaging for each product line.

Oversee execution of a leads-focused marketing program including:

Global trade show management

Advertisements and press releases

Customer success stories

Direct mail campaigns (email or postal mail)

Sales support tools

Corporate website, social media channels, apps

Manage a Voice of Customer process to discover and address performance gaps, as well as identify market trends for product development.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Oversee the development of sales support tools including product brochures, videos, advertisements and success stories.

Manage global trade shows including budget, theme, goals, messaging and attendance.

Measure the return on MarCom investment via CRM system and web analytics.

Develop and administer sales prospect database in CRM system.

Support Product Management and Sales Management with analysis of competitive environment, industry and market trends.

Guide the day to day activities of the marketing team.

Maintain knowledge of and implement MarCom trends, technology and best practices to generate demand and sales leads.

Provide marketing support to internal and external customers.

Required Skills and Experience

Education/Studies: Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Business, Marketing or Communications

Professional Experience: 5 + years of operative Marketing experience, 3 + years in capital equipment, market, especially food processing, 5+ years managing large trade show exhibits, 3+ years media and PR negotiation and planning. Working collaboratively with global Sales & Product Management teams.

Additional Preferred Education/Skills: Experience managing outside vendors (photographers, copywriters). Well-developed communication skills, creativity and web affinity. Competency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT). Independent management and team player. Graphic Design skills (print and web) a plus. Adobe Creative Suite knowledge (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator) a plus. German language a plus.

 Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position includes up to 30% domestic and international travel. Must be able to attend trade shows within the US and internationally (average stay per show = 7 days).

May be required to use a telephone, Skype or other web-conferencing software, and computer systems for long periods of time. 

May occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Must have or be able to obtain a passport for international business travel.

Must be able to travel by various means (i.e. plane, train and automobile) and rent a vehicle when necessary.
