Job Description

Steady hands WANTED!  Volt is hiring a Masker/ Masking Assembler for a reputable manufacturing firm in Austin.  Never having gone through a layoff in over 40 years of operation makes this company a highly desirable place to work! This is a temporary to hire opportunity.

If you enjoy detailed work with your hands, such as making jewelry, sewing, cross stitch, or anything else that requires steady hands, this opportunity is for you. Training will be provided – no experience necessary!

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-6:30pm

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform basic masking/demasking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in written procedures
  • Successfully demonstrate competency utilizing precision dispense equipment, stereo microscope, small hand tools, and/or other support equipment
  • Inspect own work for quality compliance      
  • Comfortable sitting for long periods of time
  • Able to strictly adhere to a set schedule and project completion deadlines
  • Able to maintain high level of punctuality and attendance
  • Complies with ESD handling requirements when appropriate
  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies
  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 1+ year experience performing similar duties; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced in a manufacturing setting working under pressure of deadlines and throughput
  • Must clearly speak, read and write English
  • Ability to clearly communicate with peers and supervisors regarding uncomplicated instructions, production results, quality issues both verbally and in writing
  • Good finger dexterity, stability and hand strength
  • High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination
  • Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green
  • Able to read at a 20/20 visual acuity using a Jaeger eye chart with or without vision correction
