We are looking to hire a Material Handler for our Client in Cambridge, ON for approximately a 6 months' assignment with the possibility of extension, through our Company Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

Job Description:

  • Employer: Volt Workforce Solutions Canada
  • Client: an American provider of industrial automation and information technology
  • Job Title: Material Handler  
  • Work Location: Cambridge, ON, CAN, N1R5X1
  • Pay Rate: upto $21.93/hr (T4) + benefits available  
  • Shift: Regular shift hours from Mon-Fri at 8 hours per day; 40 hours per week
  • Term: 6-months assignment from actual start date with the possibility of extension


  • Performs a variety of coordinating, routing, and material handling duties to meet production schedules.
  • Expedites parts to remedy shortage problems.
  • Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
  • Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
  • Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
  • Prepares kitting packages for assembly production. 


  • Works on complex assignments requiring 
  • Independent action and a high degree of 
  • Initiative to resolve issues. Makes 
  • Recommendations for new procedures. 


  • Acts independently to determine methods and 
  • Procedures on new assignments.
  • Often acts as a facilitator. 


  • As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. 
  • Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways. 


  • Receives assignments in the form of Objectives with goals and determines the Process by which to meet goals. 


  • Frequently interacts with peers and internal customers to exchange or present complex or technical Information. 

Job Requirements:

  • Education Technical school work (up to 1 year) 
  • Experience Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience in Material Handling.
