Job Description

We are looking to hire a Material Handler/ Shipper-Receiver (Aerospace) for our Client in the Aerospace industry in Oakville, ON for approximately a 9 months' assignment with the possibility of extension in Oakville, ON through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Length of Assignment: 9 months to start ASAP pending background check, ITAR and CCGP Checks and Reference Checks
  • Shift: Afternoon shift
  • Work Location: Oakville, ON L6L 5Y7
  • Note: Steel toe boots are required for this position

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Reporting to the Supervisor of shipping, as a Material Handler (Shipper/Receiver) - for the Afternoon shift, you will be responsible for Shipping and Receiving duties including crating, packaging, loading and unloading delivery trucks, and data entry into the business system 

Primary responsibilities: 
• Compare identifying information of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records 
• Unpack crates/cartons and receiving of product(entering information into ERP system or other) 
• Prepare shipments for delivery, packaging orders to customer specification; prepare all process parts to ship to vendors 
• Prepare all necessary customs documentation 
• Organize trucks for pick up and delivery 
• Utilize power tools (band saw, etc.) 
• Operate lift truck, hand tucks, and overhead crane to move, convey, or hoist shipments 
• May be required to handle dangerous goods and materials 
• Perform receiving inspection; deliver product throughout the plant 
• Become SI&A trained (self inspection and acceptance) as well as participate in “AOG On-Call” program
• Participate in CI activities 
• Attend daily Ace Board/ LDMS and other meetings as required 
• Receiving and Shipping of goods from Suppliers and Processors to be updated in SAP
• May be asked to complete other tasks in the department based on skills and qualifications 
• Material receipt and unpacking of all unique parts 
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Basic Qualifications: 
• High school diploma or educational equivalent 
• One to three years shipping receiving experience required and must have forklift truck certification 
• Dangerous Goods qualification would be considered an asset 
• Demonstrated experience using overhead cranes/slings and a variety of power tools 
• Strong communication and organizational skills 
• Strong PC skills (ERP systems, MS Office applications) 
• Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment 
• Candidates must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP 
• Safety Oriented
