Description:

A local leading organization is currently seeking experienced Warehouse PIV Operators n Charlotte, NC for a long-term temporary to hire opportunity. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensures materials and products are correctly packaged and labeled. Responsible for moving packages to/from the warehouse. Loads/unloads materials and products to/from the correct transportation carriers. Performs all duties in conformance with the plant’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) plan. Performs inventory counts

DUTIES
• Responsible for ensuring that orders are shipped to customer specifications (special shipping instructions).
• Communicates issues to team leader/Supervisor.
• Must be able to maneuver various types of powered industrial vehicles (PIV) in tight quarters.
• Responsible for the loading/unloading delivery trucks.
• Operates sit-down and stand up forklift with either short forks or long forks. Maintains inspection documents.
• May operate stand-up lifts or hoists.
• Properly handles contained chemicals or hazardous waste.
• Records the number of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Ensures paperwork is complete as to the location codes of items.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
• Determines the best storage arrangement for materials.
• Receives incoming goods and delivers them to the correct location.
• Responsible for pallet storage management.

Works with moderate work direction, and can identify issues/problems but may need assistance in resolving. Worker receives and reads customer order to identify items to be pulled and verifies stock availability. Fills customer orders in accordance with specifications on order form. Prepares items for shipment by assembling, addressing, stamping, and arranging for the transportation of products. Loads and unloads trucks, railway cars, and/or aircraft. Moves material within a warehouse or storage facility using material handling equipment. Enters product information into computer database and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Operates industrial trucks or tractors equipped to move materials around a warehouse, storage yard, factory, construction site, or similar location.

Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • MUST PASS MESP TEST
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Forklift certification
  • Reliable transportation a must
  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. repeatedly
  • Must be flexible with schedule
  • Must have experience with forklift operation, reach truck, hand tools, etc.

Shift start may vary between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM and end according to business need; typically, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

Please be prepared to work as early as 7:00 AM and as late as 5:00 PM. Saturdays are worked as needed.

Pay for this position is $14.00/hr. plus overtime as needed. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity.
