Job Description

DuPont Circuit Technologies business is seeking a Material Planner to be accountable for the formal planning and execution of all tactical level processes required to secure and manage raw materials and semi-finished materials, based on a forward-looking production plan.  

This position does not provide Visa sponsorship.  You must already be authorized to work in the United States.

 This includes scheduling and managing delivery, storage, staging, and movement of materials. The role will ensure conformance with logistics strategies, and is responsible to create and maintain valid plans for the acquisition of materials.

 Additionally, this role will support the supply chain team by providing relief coverage to asset scheduling and generate various metrics and data to support ongoing operations.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Uses MRP to project raw material demand with vendors and establishes maximum inventories and reorder points to optimize service level and inventory investment.
  • Ensures timely availability of raw materials to meet production schedules.
  • Creates, validates and maintains a materials plan based upon the Master Production Schedule
  • Ensures the right materials are procured at the right time, quality and quantity to minimize production and storage costs.
  • Develops and provides expected demand for ingredients and packaging materials to suppliers on regular basis. Obtains supply capability confirmation from suppliers.
  • Schedules and manages the execution of material deliveries against existing contracts or purchase orders.
  • Assess and respond to expected raw material storage and distribution capacity requirements based upon supplier lead times.
  • Lead resolution of short-term supply/demand imbalances for ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Collaborates with Corporate sourcing on supplier relationship management including exploring new suppliers and providing data to assist sourcing evaluations.
  • Identifies and initiates response to raw material service/quality complaints from manufacturing. Initiate return material process involving QA and Sourcing.
  • Identify inaccurate raw material inventory records and initiate actions to address.
  • Evaluates non-productive raw material inventories for disposition and works to minimize non-productive inventory for raw materials, semi-finished and packaging materials.
  • Plan movement of sourced/in-process product from a stocking location to a specific point of use location.
  • Participates in daily/weekly planning meetings and represents material plans as appropriate
  • Communicates with manufacturing, plant technical, purchasing, and master scheduling personnel regarding supply problems and their resolutions.
  • Leads the continuous improvement of the material planning process
  • Maintain accurate raw material and supplier master data including planning parameters such as order quantities or lot sizes, lead times and safety stocks.

 Provides asset scheduling support when needed by the business:

  • Serves as the point person between the supply organization and plant to clearly define / understand short term production issues and supply needs between the organizations.
  • Issue detailed schedule for each asset based on a final time-phased production plan.
  • Manage daily production schedules during planning horizon.
  • Highlight and actively participate in the identification and   resolution of inventory, customer order issues, and quality issues as they develop.  Work closely with Master scheduler and order planning personnel.
  • Communicate production schedule issues, supply changes, deviations from plan and potential resolutions to appropriate parties.
  • Validate material availability against asset schedule
  • Monitoring process orders & assuring closed as needed, accurate process orders are used to maintain system & data integrity

 Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in material management, supply chain, engineering, or business degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICs CPIM certification preferred
  • APICS CPIM modules 1-2 certification preferred/required within one year of obtaining position.
  • SAP experience required
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or related field
  • Purchasing experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office – especially Excel and PowerPoint.
