We are currently looking to hire a Material Planner/ Production Scheduler for our Client in the Automation industry in Cambridge, ON for approximately a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension, through Volt Workforce Solutions Canada.

  • Hours per week: 40 Hours per week: 8 hours paid time per day
  • Pay Rate: $27.35/hr + benefits available

Position Description:


Under general supervision, plan and formulate production schedules to conform to master schedules. Organize procedures for a specific allocation of time, and select method of manufacture to meet shipping commitments and inventory forecasts. Act as a liaison between production, engineering, purchasing and sales to address and resolve problems. Schedule the most economical procedures and equipment utilization. Monitor production progress, material inventories, and other factors affecting schedules. Revise schedules and issue change orders as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• University degree

• Post secondary education in materials management,
CPIM, CIRM, CPP or equivalent. APICS certification is preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a production/inventory control environment is required.

• Working knowledge of ERP systems is essential, preferably SAP.

• Demonstrated high proficiency of computer skills including working knowledge of Excel, Word, and SAP.


• Customer service and quality oriented with a passion for learning.

• Demonstrated analytical and creative problem solving skills.

• Effective working independently or in a team environment
