Job Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. Volt's Client is an American multinational technology company that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.

Job Details:

As a Team Member of Client’s New Product Introduction – Shared Services (NPI-SS) Organization, this Materials Engineering position will provide technical leadership in managing board mountable electronics overall for Client.

 Major Duties:
• Represent Client to suppliers on proposed design, procurement and installation of new components and processes
• Research and recommend the application of preferred components, processes, and materials; Keep visibility of leading edge component technology; Become an expert of your component commodities
• Analyze new product designs and assemblies at the component level for improved product reliability, quality, manufacturing compatibility, and cost objectives to provide an overall design competitive advantage
• Create and implement component commodity strategies, conduct supplier/part qualifications, and TQRDCE reviews

• Promote and share design best practices between supported NPI design teams
• Promote teamwork and cooperative effort
• Provide customers with highest quality of products and services
• Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes

Required Skills:
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with minimally 5 years of experience in a professional materials and manufacturing engineering and supply chain related environment.
•Experience reviewing and selecting RF/Microwave components for specific design applications
•Ability to work effectively across functional organizations such as R&D, Procurement and other business and engineering organizations
•Ability to effectively work with contract manufactures (CMs) and other suppliers individually or as part of a team
•Ability to be responsible for the technical and quality aspects of commodity team activities including part and supplier identification, evaluation, qualification and management
•Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice of scientific or engineering concepts to function as an individual contributor.
•Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
•Ability to lead small teams and projects

Desired Skills:
•Experience with Product Lifecycle Management
•Excellent team working ability as well as self-motivation, innovation and individual contribution
•Experience interfacing with suppliers
•Demonstrable project management and communication skills
•Proficiency in MS Office Tools
