Job Description

Volt WorkForce Solutions has a need for a Node.JS MEAN Stack Developer located in Irving, Texas. ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO THE DALLAS AREA; A FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW IS REQUIRED. The primary skills for the position is MongoDB, Node.js and Angular. This position involves working on a  software development team which is with implementing new systems that connect to a legacy customer facing devices.

This position requires a professional that has an ability to become an expert on large software projects that involve multiple components and developers proposing, implementing, deploying and maintaining systems that meets 24/7/365 up-times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose, document and gain consensus on solutions required to implement broadcast related projects
  • Develop and document production software suitable for use in a 24x7 broadcast environment
  • Use high productivity software languages (NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript, etc) and environments (Linux, Windows) in project solutions as recommended.
  • Experience developing back-end applications using Node.js and MongoDB is a must.
  • Experience installing MongoDB, load balancing and data replications.
  • Self-sufficiency on setting up development and simulated production environments in order to cooperatively troubleshoot your component(s) in an overall project solution.
  • Work with others across the organization to develop, troubleshoot, deploy and maintain software systems.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineer or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a development position

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience with Node.js programming ecosystem (and JavaScript programming language) and associated object oriented design practices for application development. Prior experience with Typescript a plus.
  • Ability to setup, optimize and efficiently query SQL database (MS SQL and postgres) including the creation of stored procedures where necessary
  • Setup and use of Solr for optimized database searching and reliability
  • Ability to setup, optimize and efficiently utilize NoSQL database (e.g. mongo)
  • Ability to architect solutions using portable containers that run on premise or on 3rd party cloud platform(s)
  • Software project organizational skills, e.g. use of MSVC IDE, SVN source control and ability to write custom scripts needed to bind together project deliveries so that they can be reliably deployed
  • Thorough understanding of XML, JSON, SOAP or other protocols used in inter and intra process communications over TCP and/or UDP networks.
