Mechanical Designer

This company located in Hillsboro, Oregon which can provide architectural, engineering (MEP, civil, structural), program management, land development services, general contracting, and signage and brand management services nationwide. Having 17 offices and over 350 employees, they have the horsepower to build national or regional programs is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a contract  possible temp to hire role.

The selected Tool Install Mechanical Designers are responsible for calculating duct and pipe size, determining duct and pipe routing paths, and producing AutoCAD drawings from design data provided by our tool suppliers. They are much more than drafters picking up red marks - you will work closely with engineers and other designers as an integral member of a multiple-discipline design team that produces unique tool install designs in a high-paced environment. As part of this team, you will develop design concepts and coordinate designs to resolve both real and modeled conflicts. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or GED Required. Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering – Preferred. Mechanical EIT or PE – Not required, but a plus. Familiar with the International and Oregon Mechanical Codes. Ability to read, understand, and create Mechanical Duct and Piping Schematics.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for sizing and installing process gas and hydronic piping and HVAC ductwork in commercial and industrial buildings. Able to prepare complete, concise, and organized CAD models, written reports, and drawings Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with quick turn-around times. Proficient. Autodesk AutoCAD® 2D (2015) – Experienced Autodesk Inventor® – Experienced Autodesk AutoCAD® 3D (Preferred)/Revit® (Plus).

Key point: The selected candidate wiill be creating CAD drawings in Inventor 6-8 hrs a day typically.
