Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is hiring immediately for a Mechanical Engineer I in Aurora CO.

Must have a current US Secret security clearance

The candidate will join the Raytheon Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering (HW&I) team. Responsibilities include developing detail design solutions for the system infrastructure (network, storage, and computing) for new and revised systems. The position will require detail design artifacts to be generated which include drawings using computer assisted design (CAD) systems to prepare design layouts, detail and assembly drawings, and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, parts list and other related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications. The candidate may have to prepare specifications, drawings, procedures and related engineering change orders. The candidate will also be expected to identify and correct design, model, or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements and may assist in directing work, assigning tasks and outlining activities. 

Required Skills:

•Experience in drawing development and 3D modeling, utilizing software such AutoCAD and CREO
•Familiarity with Military and Commercial Drawing Standards, including ASME-Y14.100
•Experience in developing Interface Control Drawings, Cable Assembly Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Installation Drawings, and Rack Elevation Drawings
•Ability to analyze engineering change requests to determine changes/modifications needed to the drawing package
•Experience reviewing documentation and conducting drawing checks
•Coordinate and communicate with members of engineering and management, to ensure designs meet technical requirements
•Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
•Experience with establishing drawing structures and product structures
•Experience in working with PDM systems and possesses strong understanding of Configuration Management principles
•Four (4) or more years of progressive technical/engineering experience with emphasis in mechanical design, analysis, and integration
•Current US Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship required

Desired Skills:

•Technical knowledge and engineering design experience with infrastructure systems (Computer, Networking, and Storage) components and associated hardware component configurations and interfaces
•General knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Principles
•Microsoft Office products (Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)

Required Education (including Major):

Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 4 years of related work experience
