VOLT’s client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to help our client with some very exciting and important multi-year projects that will impact hundreds of thousands in the Spokane community for years to come!

This is an estimated 3+ year full time, W-2 contract, position in Spokane, WA or Colville, WA. This is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions. A successful candidate will have experience in…

  • Have 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in energy generation, power systems, HVAC, Environmental Systems, Utilities, Mining, or automated manufacturing systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licence - not required though
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Not Civil or Electrical)

What this person will do and be responsible for…

  • Designs modifications or improvements to generating station mechanical systems. 
  • Specifies equipment required
  • Provides physical and mechanical designs and construction details.
  • Provides field engineering support while construction is in progress and operating procedures when the project is complete. Supports licensing processes for new generating projects as required.
  • Prepares design standards, construction standards, material standards, and tool standards.
  • Analyzes the physical and mechanical characteristics of materials and assemblies on a technical and economical basis.
  • Resolves problems occurring from the use of these standards and implements solutions.
  • Prepares detailed equipment, material, and project specifications.
  • Evaluates manufactures’ and consultants’ proposals both technically and economically and recommends selection.
  • Requires advanced specialized knowledge or technical background. 
  • Open to some regional travel to satellite work locations.
