Volt is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at our client’s facility in Mossville, IL.  This is a contingent position forecasted for three years.  Within this role, you will:

  • Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software
  • Assist the Certification Engineer in preparation of engine exhaust emissions certification applications for regulatory agencies around the world
  • Manage communication to regulatory agencies for changes to certified product

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Basic understanding of diesel engines, including knowledge of emissions control systems and aftertreatment
  • Experience with engine design, development and/or validation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
