Job Description

Volt is currently seeking a Mechanical/Industrial Engineer.

Summary: Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Two to four years engineering experience required. Skills and Competencies: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas. Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications. Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Additional Job Details: Hands on experience is highly desired to enable the candidate to communicate with shop personnel regarding production line issues.

Candidate Responsibilities In addition to typical drive train engineering assignments per the job description, the candidate will serve as the point of contact for all shop related issues (i.e. deviations, assembly support issues, etc.). The majority of the support will be required at the Decatur assembly facility, but questions may also come from the North Little Rock and CBL facilities.

Typical Day Point of contact for shop related questions. Help troubleshoot issues on line where needed and distribute those among the team if additional input needed. General engineering support.

Education Requirement Bachelor's in Engineering required. Mechanical engineering preferred.

Technical Skills Required Ability to communicate with assembly personnel via prints and other drawing means.

Preferred:

Familiar with CAT systems.

Ability to work in a team.
