Job Title: Medical Billing/AR 

Location: Houston, TX

Position Summary
Responsible for answering patient inquiry calls and correspondence in a professional and courteous manner as well as researching / resolving any issues or concerns patients may have with their accounts.  May also be responsible for contacting insurance carriers, patients and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability.  Quality Assurance Standards and HIPAA rules must be adhered to at all times.  Good listening skills and patience is necessary.  This job requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle complex phone calls regarding patient accounts and insurance inquiries.  Training provided. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Verifies insurance benefits for new patient referrals.
• Re-verifies insurance benefits for existing patients.
• Accurately evaluates charge and reimbursement estimates for therapies.
• Reviews all medical documentation against medical policy and obtains pre-determination, pre-certification, and authorizations. 
• Updates and maintains insurance and authorization information in billing software. 
• Obtains PCP referrals as needed. 
• Completes special projects as assigned. 
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: • Required: High school diploma or equivalent. 
Experience: • Required: Two or more years of intake/patient access experience in healthcare industry.
Certification/Licenses/
Registration: • None required.

Work schedule: 8:00 – 5:00
