Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions is eagerly searching and recruiting for a Merchandiser for one of our large enterprise stores located in Garden Grove, CA.

Merchandiser is responsible for working within the developed merchandising plans while executing and communicate to other merchandise team members, within one given store, located in Garden Grove, CA. 

The Team Lead within the Merchandising group has already crated the financial plans and strategies that support the company's overall merchandising objectives for a specific category (Major Product Line) of merchandise for both retail and eCommerce.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Create and maintain strategic plans tied to merchandising within a given store
  • Responsible for planning, inventory, markdowns and margins at a department and program level
  • Pre-season topside merchandise planning at a department level, as well as in-season planning adjusting to trend.
  • Responsible for executing on pre-season plans at weekly level
  • Analysis of business around risk and opportunities at division, class and/or program level
  • Partner with management, merchants and allocation in order to strategically move business toward increasing profit
  • Communicate monthly forecasts & supporting action plans, as well as Cross Functional teams
  • Recap and analyze actual results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis and ad hoc basis
  • Work with merchants and allocation to manage items for controlling aged inventory
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Cross Functional team members; i.e., Merchandising, Product Development, Store Operations, Visual and Finance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience in inventory and/or planning at an individual / item level
    • Ideal if within a large specialty retailer (I.E. Target, Walmart, Costco, Starbucks, etc…)
  • Ability to demonstrate logical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of inventory and stocking / warehousing
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities; ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability or aptitude to learn technical applications (ideally proficient with Microsoft)
