Job Description

Volt Workforce Solutions has an immediate opening for a Metallurgical Analyst to work onsite at Caterpillar in Decatur, IL.  Please apply immediately!

This position requires hands-on solid experience in manufacturing processes with emphasis on steel treatment and assembly, material selection, and preferably metallurgical analysis. The candidate must be able to understand the processes and results of various manufacturing and assembly processes and manufacturing operations.  This position will assist the DTS and CAT leadership team in the Met Lab shop. 

Additionally, knowledge of metallurgy processes, including heat treating, steel composition, thermal and mechanical properties of various iron and carbon alloy steels would be helpful.   A four-year bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or metallurgical engineering is a requirement, along with 2-3 years of experience in a steel or iron-based manufacturing environment.
