As the Swing Shift Manufacturing Lead, you will lead team members and perform the work of a Manufacturing Operator.

Key role responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate coverage to support production & operation of the facilities.
  • Work in a team environment where they will be expected to operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Verify that the team members are following standard work & Instruct T/M’s when they are not following Standard Work.
  • Provide training, classes, tools and skills to empower team members to be able to do their jobs safely, efficiently and effectively.
  • Support production to achieve 100% completion of the production schedules.
  • Identify root cause and implement corrective actions for identified problems.
  • Support Engineering, Management and Operations to ensure compliance with established standards and product performance levels.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively both oral and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible to implement Lean principles in his/her department(s).
  • Oversee the project management process.
  • Fill in for team leaders & team members as required
  • Ensure team members are completing work orders in a timely fashion and tracking appropriate KPI’s.
  • Help identify safety and ergonomic issues. Support resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Train new team members & get certified to utilize TWI training methods.
  • Maintain all necessary certifications to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Measure, Monitor and Sustain Quality/Delivery/cost Metrics and 5-S.
  • Conduct ergonomic exercises at start of shift.
  • Uphold policies & set the example for T/M’s to follow.
  • Recognize exemplary performance and address poor performance issues by coaching.
  • Suggest and implement daily “continuous improvement” activities by eliminating waste
  • Able to work any necessary Overtime that’s required based on business needs.

Essential Physical Abilities

  • Lifting and carrying 30 40 pounds; Developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; standing for long periods of time;

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 3 year production experience
  • Specific Skills/Knowledge
  • Computer Skills (Excel, Word, SAP)
